In contrast to a hearing evaluation, a hearing screening primarily assesses your ability to hear soft sounds of various frequencies. If any issues are identified, or in order to proceed with any amplification solutions for hearing loss, further testing will be recommended.

A hearing screening is generally not sufficient to identify the type or cause of hearing loss.

HEARING SCREENING

  • Otoscopic inspection of the ear canal and eardrum
  • Pure tone air conduction thresholds
  • Discussion of the results and options

-> INFORMATION GAINED

  • Degree of hearing loss
  • For further information or to adequately address the hearing loss, further testing would be necessary.
